                                                                                              ELECTRONICS VALIDATION ENGINEER 
 
 

ROLE

 

STA Technologies develops unique anti-counterfeiting solutions for product and document security applications. As part of these solutions, we create unique security features along with sensors to detect and authenticate these features. The Electronics Validation Engineer will work with our Design Engineering, Manufacturing personnel, Customer Technical Services personnel, customer representatives and supplier partners to assure that the STA sensors are robust, and they perform to stringent customer requirements in the field. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and evaluating test data to validate that system designs and manufacturing processes lead to a reliable and robust sensor.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
•    Support Design Engineering, Manufacturing and Customer Technical Services in the design, development, and execution of testing to prove out component and system functionality and reliability
•    Support Design Engineering with Design Verification and Validation planning and execution to support qualification of new products and product changes, to address technical risks and to perform cross-functional investigation and resolution activities.
•    Support Manufacturing in the qualification of improvements to production materials and methods by designing and executing test activities.
•    Support Customer Technical Services by planning and participating in Verification and Validation tests in the field.
•    Lead the qualification, testing and failure analysis of sensor components, subassemblies, and complete sensors.
•    Perform hands-on testing and analysis activities to troubleshoot Process and Manufacturing issues related to non-conforming production materials and propose detailed action plans to improve processes and/or components to increase manufacturing efficiency, quality, yield, cost, and/or product performance.
•    Prepare technical and progress reports in support of these activities such as test and analysis plans, test result reports, product change proposals and change verification test results. 

 


PROFILE  
 
•    BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 3-5 years’ experience in developing, manufacturing and/or validation of electronic products is required.
•    Experience developing test methods, performing validation tests, and analyzing the data is required.
•    Strong skills in hands-on troubleshooting, debugging, and data analysis are required.
•    Strong background in physics and material science is required.
•    Detailed understanding of electronics test equipment is required. Knowledge of laser test equipment is preferred.
•    Working knowledge of statistics and its application to verification and validation activities is required. Coursework in statistics and experience with data analysis tools preferred.
•    Strong documentation and communication skills are required.
•    Experience in the full product life cycle is preferred.
•    Experience in preparing risk assessments, FMEA and other risk documents is preferred.
•    Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance
•    U.S. citizenship required.
•    Must be able to support business travel up to 15%.
•    A self-starter who proposes solutions to technical issues
•    A motivated individual who can work closely within a geographically diverse team to resolve technical issues
•    Someone with the ability to handle shifting priorities, multiple projects and timeline pressure to meet deadlines
•    Someone comfortable with communicating in a variety of forums
•    Someone with the ability to work with management, program representatives, and customers at several levels
