PLANNING AND LOGISTICS SPECIALIST

 

 

ROLE

 

 

STA Technologies develops unique anti-counterfeiting solutions for product and document security applications. As part of these solutions, we create unique security features along with sensors to detect and authenticate these features. These sensors are manufactured at STA. The Planning and Logistics Specialist will support manufacturing operations through a variety of tasks as detailed in the section below.  Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • The Specialist will receive incoming components into inventory, coordinating incoming inspection where applicable, track inventory against targets quantities, and create purchase requisitions to facilitate the supply chain.
  • The Specialist will partner with Manufacturing Management to establish the manufacturing schedule. They will create parts kits and initiate work orders in the MRP system, coordinate manufacture and in-line QC checks, record results, take usage decisions and generate Certificates of Acceptance.
  • The Specialist will receive customer orders, coordinate customization of sensors per customer order, and arrange for shipment. The Specialist will also receive customer returns and coordinate maintenance or repair work. Sensor shipments involve compliance with complex shipping regulations, and export control regulations in the case of international shipments. Specialist will partner with site experts to assure compliance to these and all applicable regulations and seek to become an expert on the topic.
  • The Specialist will partner with manufacturing to create and continually improve processes and documentation to maximize customer support, manufacturing efficiency, and minimize costs.

  • The Specialist will partner with manufacturing and engineering personnel to maintain calibration of production tools and fixtures by managing the assets and calibration schedules, coordinating internal or external calibration, and keeping accurate records in asset management database (Asset Essentials).

 

 

PROFILE  

 

 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details. Committed to accuracy.
  • Adept in using office computer applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills. Able to summarize complex information and communicate it both verbally and in writing.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Qualification in the field of logistics, transportation and materials management, such as APICS, DOT, and/or IATA certification, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean / 6-sigma principles is required, certification is preferred.
  • 2-5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
