To strengthen our Manufacturing Team, we are looking for a

 

 

                                                                                    Production Supervisor

 

 

ROLE

 

 

You will be responsible for supervising and developing the production technicians and for understanding and maintaining STA’s production platforms. You must assure quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness while maintaining a focus on safety, health and environmental commitments.

 

You will be responsible for the following tasks: 

 

  • Responsible for the safe, environmentally sound production and post processing activities across multiple platforms and shifts. Be on call periodically.
  • Work closely with the business groups and management to understand the needs and available resources. Organize tasks and coordinate resources to deliver results for internal and external customers in line with appropriate priorities based on the manufacturing plan and other site priorities.
  • Communicate, follow-up, and coordinate production work with technicians. Execute concise shift passdown with the technicians resulting in zero safety or environmental incidents and no loss of efficiency or quality.

Conscious and rigorous communication and dissemination of information to personnel across shifts.    Work closely with the Manufacturing Manager to ensure that employees’ and stakeholders’ questions and concerns are addressed in a timely manner.

  • Work with engineering, management and technicians to update, maintain, and communicate Process Safety Information (PSI). Ensure compliance with and accuracy of standard operating procedures and other instructions/procedures.
  • Understand Quality Systems, and continually work to reduce variation in the operation, process, and change over activities.
  • Train, mentor, provide clear instructions, and ensure employee understanding of production processes.  Provide employees with an understanding of the sites business plans, needs, and priorities. Maintain and increase safety, efficiency and skills and promote a cooperative attitude among coworkers.
  • Complete all required reports, records, and measurements, i.e. production records, timesheet authorization, PDI forms, etc.
  • Make difficult, justifiable, sound decisions based upon personnel and system limitations and company priorities.
  • Coach and develop employees. Mentor them through the Level System in place at STA Technologies.

 

 

PROFILE

 

  • Technical Knowledge: Firm understanding of chemical process equipment, spray pyrolysis equipment, and NAOS® production platform, including safety and environmental aspects. Familiar with and committed to the effective use of safety systems and practices (Emergency Response, Accident Investigation, LTT, Confined Space Entry, etc.). Knowledge of general chemistry, and safety and engineering standards and specifications. Able to identify technical issues and opportunities. Learns the job of effectively managing direct reports and provides hands-on assistance when necessary. Actively works to grow technical knowledge on an ongoing basis – both for self and for production technicians.
  • Problem Solving and Judgment: Anticipates problems and takes appropriate action to prevent. Sees how a problem and its solution will affect other units/areas/groups. Makes decisions using data and logic, not emotion. Collects and analyzes appropriate data and weighs alternatives against objectives to make sound decisions. Takes informed risks.   • Guide technicians through Levels I, II, III; communicate with them where their gaps are and facilitate them closing those gaps.

  • Technical degree or trade experience helpful. Minimum of eight years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Preference will be given to individuals who have demonstrated strong leadership and organizational skills.
