To strengthen our Sensor team, we are looking for a
Sensor Manager
ROLE
You will be responsible for supporting The Sensor Development and Manufacturing function at STA Technologies but also you will be responsible for the following tasks:
Leads and manages STA’s sensor development programs. The responsibilities in this role include developing project plans, lead collaborations with industry partners and provide high level technical guidance to the project teams. Other responsibilities include:
- Manage multidisciplinary engineering team in development of spectrometer-based sensors.
- System engineering responsibilities include conceptual design through quality and performance testing of all instrumentation. Support applications development and customer support.
- Participates in diverse areas of research and development to contribute innovations, new designs, or new techniques to advance the field
- Interprets the principles, theories and concepts of sensor design
- Responsible for leading all projects including staff, scheduling, and setting priorities
- Adheres to and supports the implementation and improvement of all safety, health and environmental guidelines
- Works to ensure that all intellectual property standards are followed
- Initiates and maintains contacts with key technical resources
- Interacts with other researchers to share scientific knowledge
- Ensures proper documentation of research activities
PROFILE
- Project Management. Organizational skills to keep project team focused, track progress and make adjustments. Ensures clear understanding of project goals. Uses formal project management tools and methodologies. Manages project plans, milestones, tasks, etc.
- Communication. Ability to communicate effectively and adapt approach to intended audiences. Communicates project needs, challenges, decisions and proposed solutions. Is able to deliver good and bad messages with sensitivity and clarity.
- Leadership. Displays sense of accountability and takes ownership for project success. Drives project forward to results. Ability to build and maintain relationships and interact effectively with all levels within the organization. Ability to influence without formal authority. Can leverage cross-functional relationships in order to obtain resources from other parts of the organization.
- Advanced degree in EE (BS or MS).
- Bring 15+ yrs experience with opto-electronic design and integration experience with, hardware/software programing skills
- BS required / MS preferred Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering•
- Preferably experience in the banknote industry
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret Clearance
