To lead our Sensor Team, we are looking for a

 

 

                                                                  Sensor Manager

 

 

ROLE

 

 

You will be responsible for leading the Sensor Development and Sensor Manufacturing functions at STA Technologies.

 

Responsibilities include, leading these functions in partnership with our internal company teams in Switzerland, directing our internal STA development teams, developing and managing project plans and timelines, lead collaborations with industry partners and provide technical guidance to the project teams.

 

Further Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Collaborate on sensor innovation and development with our Teams in Switzerland.  Participate in diverse areas of research and development and contribute to innovations, new designs, or new techniques to advance the field.
  • Manage a multidisciplinary engineering team in development of spectrometer-based sensors.
  • Execute on design concepts through prototyping, quality and performance testing, planning for manufacturing, and lead a first-class electronics manufacturing operation.
  • Support applications development and lead the customer support group at STA.
  • Responsible for leading all projects including staff, scheduling, and setting priorities
  • Adheres to and supports the implementation and improvement of all safety, health and environmental guidelines
  • Ensures that all intellectual property standards are followed
  • Ensures proper documentation of research activities
  • Manage government contracts and lead administrative requirements

 

 

PROFILE

 

 

  • Project Management:  Organizational skills to keep project team focused, track progress and make adjustments.  Ensures clear understanding of project goals.  Uses formal project management tools and methodologies. Manages project plans, milestones, tasks, etc.
  • Communication:  Ability to communicate effectively and adapt approach to intended audiences. Communicates project needs, challenges, decisions and proposed solutions. Leads discussions and communication with customers and government agencies.
  • Leadership:  Displays sense of accountability and takes ownership for project success.  Drives project forward to results. Ability to build and maintain relationships and interact effectively with all levels within the organization.  Can leverage cross-functional relationships in order to obtain resources from other parts of the organization.
  • Education:  Degree in EE (BS or MS).  Advance degrees in other technical areas with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience:  Brings 10+ yrs experience of leading complex technical projects that involve multi-layer systems and meeting technical requirements, deliverables and strict timelines.  Understanding of spectroscopy, opto-electronic design and integration experience with, hardware/software programing skills are all pluses.
  • Preferably experience in the banknote industry
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret Clearance
