SENSOR TECHNICIAN

 

 

 

ROLE

 

 

STA Technologies develops unique anti-counterfeiting solutions for product and document security applications. As part of these solutions, we create unique security features along with sensors to detect and authenticate these features. These sensors are manufactured at STA by our Sensor Technicians.  Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • The Sensor Technician will utilize hand tools and electronics assembly techniques to assemble sensors from kits with accuracy and high quality, following applicable Standard Operational Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • The Sensor Technician will utilize test assemblies to perform evaluation, burn-in and quality checks on sensor assemblies.
  • The Sensor Technician will maintain strict traceability of components, assemblies and data within the manufacturing area using travelers and MRP system.
  • The Sensor Technician will adhere to all required protocols including safety and quality-related protocols.
  • The Sensor Technician will partner with peers, management and engineering to continuously improve the manufacturing operations.
  • The Sensor Technician will support development of sensors and integration of new sensors into the manufacturing environment by assembling, building and assisting with documentation.

PROFILE

 

 

  • Experience with common laboratory electronics equipment, such as Digital multi-meter, Function generator, Laboratory power supplies, Oscilloscopes, Soldering, Crimping tools, is required.
  • Experience assembling electronic, mechanical, and/or optical components, such as wiring electronics assemblies, assembling mechanical housings, testing components prior to assembly, and testing complete sensor assemblies in a manufacturing environment, is strongly desired.
  • Experience in manufacturing or knowledge of ISO certification is strongly desired.
  • Hands-on experience with lasers or laser components is desirable.
  • Experience reading schematics, identifying and selecting catalog electronic components, populating circuit boards, populating panel mount connectors or making custom cables, is desirable.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team environment is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or certification in a technical or manufacturing discipline is desirable.
  • 2-5 years work experience is required. Work in a manufacturing environment desirable.
  • Successful candidate must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and hold a Secret Clearance.
