To strengthen our Sensor team, we are looking for a

 

                                                                            Senior Electronics Engineer

 

ROLE

 

As the Senior Electronics Engineer, you will function as an industrialization engineer, collaborating closely with both the R&D and manufacturing teams to facilitate the transition of new products into production and optimize designs for manufacturability. This role includes supporting products during manufacturing and at customer sites in cooperation with the Customer Technical Services group. Additionally, this engineer will support the sensor maintenance depot by helping manufacturing teams troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

You will be working on site at STA Technologies Inc, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and collaborating with our team at SICPA in Switzerland and our customers worldwide.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Review, inspect, test, and troubleshoot electronic systems, components, sensors.
  • Design verification and validation of systems.
  • Troubleshooting of opto-electronic hardware components in sensors to create detection systems.
  • Work with R&D and manufacturing teams maintain, update and develop new features for current sensors or QC tools.
  • Showing initiative and keeping up with advancements in Electronics.
  • Ensuring all equipment and products meet health and safety regulations and are well documented.

PROFILE

 

  • Experience designing electronic schematics and printed circuit boards. Capable of soldering and assembling prototype units and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with C programming or an equivalent low-level programming language.
  • Experience in test bench design, test coverage calculations, and designing experiments.
  • Knowledge of good electronics development practices and demonstrated ability to document the work and function within an ISO 9001-compliant quality system.
  • Experience in designs which are compliant with safety regulations and best practices is required. Experience obtaining NTTL, CE, or other safety certifications is desirable.

Ability to explain the reasoning behind their opinions, ask and answer questions effectively and tactfully, and listen effectively to the input of others.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships and interact effectively with all levels within the organization. Ability to influence without formal authority.
  • Minimum M.S. Degree in Electronics Engineering with 3+ years post-degree experience in a scientific or related technological field or B.S. Degree and 8+ years of post-degree experience
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a US Government Security Clearance at the Secret level.
