To strengthen our Warehouse, Packing and Shipping team, we are looking for a
Warehouse, Packaging and Shipping Specialist
ROLE
• Provides direct support to the Facilities department in maintaining the responsibilities of Shipping and Receiving, Inventory Control, Materials Management, Supply Ordering, and occasionally Contractor Management and facility systems repair and maintenance. The employee completes these tasks with the highest regard to safety and environmental compliance. Must be able to effectively communicate (oral and written) with all employees, contractors and vendors
• Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment: Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Operate forklift or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area or into/out of tractor trailer for delivery or pick up
• Maintains specific inventory levels of consumable materials within the site at levels that insure non outages for these materials that are critical to the operation.
• Completes shipping functions for all shipments including completing the Homeland Security and Border Patrol filings using ACE.
• Completes shipper’s declarations and bills of ladings or air ways bills as may be required by various types of shipments. Must obtain IATA and DOT certification within 6 months of employment
• Completes the receiving functions for all inbound materials, Ensures that SDS’s are on site for all products prior to releasing them to the requestors of these materials. Confirms that chemicals have the proper labeling requirements related to chemicals hygiene. Notifies users that the materials they have requested are in and ready for use.
• Oversees day-to-day shipping and receiving operations and provides guidance to employees performing mail and messenger/courier services or other related activities.
• Completes daily inspections of various items as required and tracked using Net Facilities
• Maintains current chemical database materials for user availability, tracks usage and makes the required communications and or transactions to ensure inventory levels are kept at an accurate level for production purposes.
• Assist as needed in the set-up or take down of cubicles and associated office furniture and equipment
• Takes into consideration the highest regard to safety before completing any task completes JSA’s for non-routine tasks and offers positive feedback and input as necessary
• Assist as needed, facilities technicians with repair or maintenance of building systems including but not limited to roof-top units, HVAC units and building plumbing.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager
PROFILE
• Attention to detail: This position requires precise calculations to be made in insuring inventory levels are keep accurate and in keeping consumable levels at a zero-outage state. It also requires the associate to effectively communicate and maintain the follow up needed to resolve any discrepancies
• Teamwork: This position requires that the employee works within a very diverse business setting. The employee must work with management to control costs while providing a high degree of service. It is expected that the employee be able to deliver feedback in a professional manner while striving to achieve common group goals. The employee will always consider the most economical approach to any task while working within budgeted requirements.
• Provides positive contributions with the team: The employee must be willing to continually seek improvement in all areas and be willing to accept constructive criticism related to his or her area, the worker must be willing to accept change and be willing to accept these changes
• Education and or years of related service in the distribution environment preferred. Knowledge of supply chain management and or APICS certifications as well as experience with MS Office and SAP/JDE adds value within this person. Basic warehousing and or distribution, hands on experience at a level of 5 years and additional experience with building systems such as HVAC, plumbing and electrical preferred.
