To strengthen our Sensor team, we are looking for a











You will be responsible for supporting sensor development at STA Technologies, Inc., Albuquerque, NM.  You will be responsible for the following tasks: 


•        Design, inspect, test, and troubleshoot electronic systems, components, sensors

•        Design verification and validation of system

•        Participate in development projects

•        Properly define project scope, and estimate work effort

•        Integration of opto-electronic hardware components in sensors to create detection systems

•        Work with the engineering, R&D and manufacturing groups maintain, update and develop new features for current sensors or QC tools

•        Showing initiative and keeping up with advancements in Electronics

•        Participates in IP strategy and invention disclosures of new processes and materials

•        Ensuring all equipment and products meet health and safety regulations.

•        Apply intensive and diverse knowledge of principles and practices in areas of assignment and related fields.  Must share learnings generously across the organization

•        Effectively contribute to Performance Based Management (PBM) by coaching and mentoring project team members and providing feedback to managers







•        Experience in designing electronic schematics

•        Experience in printed circuit board design

•        Experience in test bench design and test coverage calculations

•        Experience in C programming or equivalent low-level programing language

•        Capable of designing experiments to collect data

•        Capable of troubleshooting systems

•        Capable of soldering printed circuit board and assemble sensor parts as part of initial board bring-up and troubleshooting

•        Basic knowledgeable of optical systems

•        Self-motivated with an ability to plan tasks, estimate work effort and meet deadlines

•        Knowledge of good electronic development practices and ability to document work and function within a quality system (ISO 9001:2008)

•        Knowledge of Safety Awareness

•        Project Management.  Organizational skills to keep project team focused, track progress and make adjustments.  Ensures clear understanding of project goals.  Uses formal project management tools and methodologies. Manages project plans, milestones, tasks, etc.

•        Communication.  Ability to communicate effectively and adapt approach to intended audiences. Communicates project needs, challenges, decisions, and proposed solutions.  Capable of delivering both good and bad messages with sensitivity and clarity.

•        Leadership. Displays sense of accountability and takes ownership for team and company success.  Drives projects forward to results. Ability to build and maintain relationships and interact effectively with all levels within the organization.  Ability to influence without formal authority.

•        Quality of Work.  Maintains high standards despite pressing deadlines; does work right the first time; corrects own errors; regularly produces accurate, thorough, professional work.

•        Minimum M.S. Degree in Electronics Engineering with 3+ years post-degree experience in a scientific or related technological field or B.S. Degree and 8+ years of post-degree experience

•        Must be a U.S. citizen
