To strengthen our Sensor team, we are looking for an

 

 

                                                                       ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

 

ROLE

 

 

You will be responsible for supporting sensor development at STA Technologies, Inc., Albuquerque, NM.  You will be responsible for the following tasks: 

 

  • Designing schematics, circuits & printed circuit boards for sensors or QC instruments that utilize analog and digital circuitry, low-power processors and/or microcontrollers
  • Perform design verification and validation for the circuits in the system environment
  • Build breadboard and prototype hardware, including soldering components and assembling hardware to demonstrate and validate designs
  • Programming in assembly or C
  • Developing hardware and applications to interface with and acquire data from OEM/3rd party devices such as scientific instrumentation
  • Perform data analysis to support system development, troubleshooting and algorithm development.
  • Implement detection algorithms, code self-test and communication functions in software
  • Interface with the engineering, R&D and manufacturing groups to maintain, update and develop new hardware and/or software capabilities on current sensors or QC tools
  • Troubleshooting electronics issues with test benches, sensors, and QC tools during development, production, deployment/integration and returns for repair.
  • Designing tests and/or experiments to validate designs, understand system performance and troubleshoot issues throughout the life cycle of the systems.

 

 

 

PROFILE

 

 

  • B.S. Degree in an Electronic field with 2-6 years post-degree experience in a scientific or related technological field
  • Capable of defining project scope and planning projects from derived requirements including estimations of the effort and schedules required to complete the activity
  • Experience with problem solving that includes anticipating problems; understanding how a problem and its solution will affect other elements; gathering information to guide decision making; evaluating alternatives against objectives; understanding and communicating risks; and escalating problems in a timely manner.
  • Experience in test bench design and test coverage calculation
  • Experience with hardware and software configuration management that addresses continuous improvement while maintaining a controlled production environment
  • Basic knowledgeable of optical systems
  • Knowledge of good electronic development practices and ability to document work and function within a quality system (ISO 9001:2008)
  • Knowledge of Safety Awareness
  • Ability to write and speak effectively to document their work products and decisions; to support their opinions with sound reasoning; to tactfully provide feedback to coworkers and management; and to effectively provide ongoing status updates to coworkers and management about their areas of responsibility
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-discipline team environment building and maintaining relationships to interact effectively with all levels within the organization. 
  • Ability to influence without formal authority.
  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain as US Secret Security Clearance
