                                                                    SR. CHEMICAL TECHNICIAN

 

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY 

Support scientists / engineers by independently and under direct supervision conducting high quality technical work as assigned, and reporting on the results.  Work closely with teams throughout the organization to move research, production & commercial activities forward

 

 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES 
 

  • Work involves development of  particles and inks, which can involve synthesis, separation, dispersions, formulation, characterization, and product evaluation. 
  • Organize, record, analyze data and document results in laboratory notebooks and necessary databases
  • Chemical laboratory safety and maintenance including responsibility for proper functioning/maintenance of laboratory equipment and ensuring adequate laboratory supplies.
  • Writing/updating standard operating procedures.

  • General understanding of chemistry, laboratory terminology, equipment, and testing/experimental procedures.
  • Effective communicator, team player, good documentation, organizational skills and self-starter.
  • Ability to be flexible and multi-task.
  • Familiar with the use of computer, and ability to learn required systems applications.
  • Willingness to learn and grow.
  • Attention to Detail.  Follows detailed procedures and ensures accuracy in documentation and data; carefully monitors gauges, instruments of processes; concentrates on routine work details; organizes and maintains a system of records.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
 

  • Basic knowledge of Chemistry / Materials Science / Chemical engineering, BSc degree is preferred but not required.
  • Familiar with database development/management, data analysis, Statistical Process Control methods preferred but not required
  • Previous working experience as a technician is preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a laboratory / production environment
