To strengthen our team in Italy, we are looking for a:


PRINT HEAD DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER


ROLE:


In the context of the design of specialized printers based on thermal inkjet, we are looking for a profile in charge of different activities ranging from the initial concept to the final production of the device including:

  • Specifications definition
  • Hydraulic design
  • Prototyping
  • Validation
  • Product Engineering


Main responsibilities:

  • Drive the characterization of the performance of the printheads in all relevant aspects, including but not limited to hydraulic features, printing quality, short- and long-term testing of the product.
  • Take part in the optimization of existing products and design of new products led by the modelling tools available
  • Study, design and implement additional and/or alternative testing tools/routines whenever needed
  • Execute standard routines of the experimental definition of the characteristics of both consolidated and newly designed printheads
  • Test on the printhead regarding specific conditions not directly related to the printing activity, e.g. storage, transport conditions
  • Assess the hydraulic performance of new inks on available printheads, in close collaboration with the chemical department
  • Perform measurement campaigns of relevant indicators (typically temperature, pressure) and collect relevant data to be shared with the team
  • In collaboration with other departments, conduct activities of failure analysis and reverse engineering

 


PROFILE:

  • Master's degree in relevant engineering fields (Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering and Physics Engineering are preferable)
  • Proficient in English and local language - spoken and written (mandatory)
  • Solid knowledge of fluid mechanical principles
  • Strong inclination to experimental activity
  • Capacity of working in a multidisciplinary environment and interact with colleagues from different backgrounds (familiarity with material science is highly considered)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with measuring devices for the applications of interest (typically pressure and temperature sensors)
  • Knowledge of Matlab/Octave is a plus
