To strengthen our Springfield, VA SICPA Securink Corporation team, we are looking for a
Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager
ROLE
The HSE Manager is responsible for managing health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards. This role also includes overseeing customer and related product stewardship activities in addition to the traditional health, safety and environmental programs in a chemical manufacturing environment. The HSE Manager is responsible for filing and maintaining compliance with all major HSE legislation related to water, waste, air, and other environmental aspects.

- Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Oversee product stewardship activities, including TSCA LVE filings, REACH compliance, and customer product stewardship responses.
- Ensure compliance with all major HSE legislation related to water, waste, air, and other environmental aspects.
- Conduct regular HSE audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. Promote and provide input to the company’s sustainability initiatives.

- Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and jointly with Quality department develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure HSE considerations are integrated into all aspects of operations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to HSE activities and compliance.
- Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) related to HSE and develop programs to continuously improve KPIs.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to HSE and product stewardship.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, customers, and other stakeholders on HSE matters.

- Verify, test and improve emergency response plans and procedures.
- Manage HSE budgets and resources effectively.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Promote continuous improvement in HSE practices and performance.
- Coordinate with external consultants and contractors on HSE matters.

PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE management, preferably in the chemical manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and standards, including TSCA, REACH, and other relevant legislation.
- Strong understanding of product stewardship principles and practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certification in HSE management (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) is preferred.
- Microsoft proficient (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, etc)
- Strong communication (verbal and written) skills.
