PURPOSE OF THE JOB:


•    To lead the development and deployment of advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI solutions that enhance digital intelligence modules, operational performance, and decision-making.


•    The Data Scientist will work with cross-functional teams and leverage SICPA’s core platforms and monitoring tools—including SICPATRACE BI, ServiceNow, Splunk, and Nagios—to deliver predictive insights and intelligent automation. 


•    This role will actively engage with Customer teams, Operations Management, the Service Centre, and other functional units such as IT Operations, Field Service Operations, and Finance, assisting in the interpretation of complex data to support strategic and operational decisions. 


•    The BI Data Scientist will also act as an organisational enabler, building data capability within functional teams through continuous training, coaching, and data support, and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organisation. 

 

ROLE:


1.    Machine Learning & AI

 
•    Design and deploy ML, deep learning models for fraud detection, anomaly identification, predictive analytics, behavioral segmentation, and risk scoring. 
•    Apply AI techniques such as LLM, image processing, and reinforcement learning to improve Digital Services Intelligence and reporting. 
•    Conduct feature engineering, model tuning, and performance evaluation using statistical and cross-validation methods. 
•    Implement MLOps pipelines for model lifecycle management, including versioning, deployment, and monitoring. 


2.    Data Engineering & Analytics 


•    Build and maintain ETL pipelines using SQL, Python, and SSIS for scalable data ingestion and   transformation. 
•    Integrate and analyse data from operational platforms: 
-  BI – for traceability and compliance analytics 
-  Splunk – for real-time log and event monitoring 
-  Nagios – for infrastructure health and alerting 
-  ServiceNow – for ITSM and incident tracking 
-  DMS – for master data management 
•    Develop interactive dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI or Tableau for real-time insights and strategic reporting. 
•    Conduct root cause analysis, trend forecasting, and scenario modelling to support action planning. 


3.    Collaboration & Enablement 


•    Partner with Operations, IT, Field Services, Finance, and Customer teams to interpret data and influence decisions. 
•    Lead training and coaching sessions to build data literacy and promote a data-driven mindset across teams. 
•    Support the development and delivery of reporting and analytics training for customer and taxpayer system users. 

 

PROFILE: 

 

Required Skills & Experience: 
•    Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau). 
•    Hands-on experience with ML frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch). 
•    Familiarity with core tools: Splunk, ServiceNow, DMS, and Linux environments. 
•    Experience with AI applications such as LLM (ollama, LangChain, Hugging Face), computer vision (OpenCV), and deep learning. 
•    Solid understanding of ITSM, Service Management, and data governance principles. 
•    Experience working with large structured and unstructured datasets. 
•    Ability to present insights to senior management and influence strategic decisions. 

 

Qualifications 
•    Bachelor's or master's degree in data science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, or a related field. 
•    3+ years of experience in data science, AI development, or advanced analytics roles. 

 

Preferred Knowledge 
•    Familiarity with RPA tools (e.g., UiPath, Power Automate). 
•    Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). 
•    Knowledge of MDX, SSAS, SSRS, and SSIS. 
•    Familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git). 
•    Experience with data privacy, security, and compliance frameworks
