Business Development Manager 

 

MISSION

 

The Business Development Manager – Brand Protection is responsible for expanding SICPA’s commercial presence in the private sector, working with brand owners to help them address illicit trade challenges like counterfeiting.


This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, developing strong relationships with private sector clients, and securing high-value contracts for SICPA’s Brand Protection solutions.


The position reports to the Managing Director in Spain, with a dotted line to the Head of the Market Segment - Brand Protection.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • The scope of the job will cover Spain and some specific markets in Europe.
  • Develop and implement a business development strategy focused on brand protection solutions for industries facing counterfeiting and supply chain risks.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities, promoting SICPA’s technologies to different industries[XU1] .
  • Negotiate and secure commercial agreements with global brands and manufacturers, ensuring the adoption of SICPA’s brand protection solutions.
  • Monitor market trends, counterfeiting threats, and regulatory changes impacting brand protection strategies.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation and solution presentations to proposal development, tender participation, and contract negotiations.
  • Work closely with internal teams (product, innovation, operations) to ensure SICPA’s solutions align with client needs and industry regulations.
  • Analyze sales performance and provide regular market intelligence reports to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with all commercial and regulatory frameworks related to product authentication and brand protection.
  • Represent SICPA at trade shows, conferences, and industry networking events.
     

PROFILE

 

  • 7-10 years of experience in business development, sales, or key account management in brand protection, authentication technologies, traceability, or anti-counterfeiting solutions.
  • Strong understanding of counterfeiting, parallel trade, and supply chain security challenges.
  • Established network within industries being impacted by counterfeit or related issues, and industrial manufacturing[XU2] .
  • Proven ability to develop strategic partnerships and close large B2B contracts.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles and navigating decision-making processes in global companies.
  • Solid project management and negotiation skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English; additional languages, such as French are a plus.
