Marker Delivery driver/Forklift operator

DRIVER

 

The Driver will be responsible for driving local staff and visitors to the office and various project sites based on business needs and to maintain and fuel the vehicle assigned.

 

ROLE:

 

  • Keep company vehicles free from damage, in an acceptable condition, and consistently clean.
  • Ensure that the vehicle is in proper and safe condition prior to use, and accept responsibility to report any damage or mechanical malfunctions that exist to the immediate Manager
  • Safely transport deliveries to customer locations in a timely, safe and courteous manner.
  • Knowledge on GPS device usage and reading maps too.
  • Be responsible for maintenance and servicing of the vehicle according to an agreed schedule. Maintain full, complete records of all use and servicing of the vehicle.
  • Driving SICPA staff to various work sites for meetings and interventions, including to the more distant work sites which require overnight trips and act as a courier to run errands.

 

General / Other Activities

 

  • Compliance with SICPA internal rules and policies as well as local regulations on security, transport and any other related regulations.
  • Flexibility to work outside business hours and availability for on call support, depending on business requirement.

PROFILE:

 

•Must possess a Valid driver’s license and clean police record
•Holder of  an active PSV license, DL  of Class-C
•A minimum of Form 4 certificate.
•Must have gained  experience of over 5 years driving  a vehicle capacity of 10tonnes  in a  reputable organizations
•Familiar with other regions in the country other than Nairobi.
•Vehicle maintenance (Mechanical)- will be an added advantage
•Language skills: Fluent in English and local language
•Others: Good written and verbal communication

Specific knowledge linked to the job:

Mandatory:

•Clear knowledge of Kenyan traffic rules.
•Clear knowledge of local routes.
•Ability to use a computer.
