R&D Scientist

To strengthen our R&D department, and contribute to maintaining and expanding SICPA's leadership as a provider of security solutions, we are looking for a:

R&D Scientist

ROLE :

• Manage and drive to successful completion research, development, and implementation projects involving internal or external customers, in the domain of process-based optical security features (currently, these are based mainly on magnetic orientation and implemented via a printing process)
• Contribute to internal and client projects, and participate collaboratively in cross-functional teams 
• Follow technical and scientific progress in the core and adjacent areas of the Laboratory activities. Identify opportunities to initiate innovative developments in these areas
• Support activities required to maintain a strong IP portfolio

PROFILE :

• Solid technical, practical expertise and experience (min. 5 years) in at least one of the following fields: Chemistry, Chemical-Physics Materials Sciences at the level of PhD. 
• A significant experience with a second of these fields : Optics, Electronics, Programming, Automation, Mechanics is a strong plus
• An industrial experience and / or ink formulation experience is an asset
• A proven record of contribution to scientific/technical innovation with a demonstrated ability to conceive, prototype, and implement technical solutions combining materials, process and equipment
• Management of small- and medium-scale technical projects
• Autonomous, polyvalent, curious and organized. You are a motivated team player, and give your best to achieve results
• You are able to handle complex problems, and work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment
• You are fluent in English or French and have a very good command of the other language
• Available and willing to travel a few times per year (up to a week each)
