Senior R&D Scientist

To strengthen our R&D Department, and contribute to maintaining and expanding SICPA's leadership as a provider of security solutions, we are looking for a:

R&D SCIENTIST

ROLE:

• Manage and drive to successful completion research, development, and support projects involving internal or external customers, in the domain of process-based optical security features (Currently, these are based mainly on magnetic orientation and implemented via a printing process). 
• Contribute to internal and client projects under someone else's responsibility.
• Participate collaboratively in cross-functional teams
• Follow technical and scientific progress in the core and adjacent areas of the Laboratory activities.  Identify opportunities to initiate innovative developments in these areas
• Support activities required to  maintain a strong IP portfolio  

PROFILE: 

• Solid technical and practical expertise and experience (min. 5 years)  in at least in at least two one of the following fields: Physics, Chemistry, Materials sciences. Significant experience with a second of these fields, or with Optics, Electronics, Programming, Automation, Mechanics is a strong plus.
• A proven record of contribution to scientific/technical innovation with a demonstrated ability to conceive, prototype, and implement technical solutions combining materials, process, and equipment. 
• Management of small- and medium-scale technical projects.
• Autonomous, polyvalent, curious and organized. You are a motivated team player, and give your best to achieve results. 
• You are able to handle complex problems, and work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment
• You are fluent in English, and capable of actively taking part in a technical conversation in French.
• Available and willing to travel, in case of need, up to 4 times/yr for up to a week each.
