Field Service Technician
Role Purpose
Provide Level 2 technical support and field service to ensure the reliability, availability, and effective operation of SICPA solutions. The role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, installations, system monitoring, calibrations, and on-site technical support while acting as a key link between local operations and advanced support teams.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Maintenance
- Provide Level 2 support for hardware, software, and operational issues.
- Diagnose and resolve incidents within agreed service levels.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Install, configure, maintain, and optimize systems and applications.
- Conduct system monitoring, troubleshooting, and periodic calibrations.
- Maintain technical documentation and support repair center activities.
Operations & Service Delivery
- Coordinate service activities with field technicians and support teams.
- Act as liaison between Level 2 and Level 3 support teams.
- Participate in deployments, upgrades, testing, and system validation.
- Escalate critical issues and support incident resolution processes.
- Monitor service performance and contribute to operational improvement initiatives.
- Support on-call activities and emergency interventions when required.
Customer & Team Support
- Provide on-site technical support to customers and operational teams.
- Share technical knowledge and support capability development within local teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, reliability, and service excellence initiatives.
Profile
Education
- Technical Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in field service, technical maintenance, troubleshooting, automation, industrial equipment, or operational support environments.
- Experience supporting equipment, systems, and customer operations.
- Customer-facing support experience is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows environments and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to analyze mechanical, electrical, software, and application-related issues.
- Knowledge of system monitoring, maintenance processes, and technical documentation.
Desirable Knowledge
- Computer networks and connectivity troubleshooting.
- IT support tools such as FTP, SSH, Putty, SVN, and remote access solutions.
- PLC configuration and basic programming.
- Experience in beverage, tobacco, fuel, manufacturing, industrial, or laboratory environments.
