To strengthen our Industrial Technologies and Engineering team, we are looking for a
Maintenance Supervisor
ROLE
SICPA is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the local maintenance team at our Springfield, VA Site. You will be responsible for providing guidance and executing routine and reactive maintenance tasks on both facility and process equipment in line with the expectations and pace set by the business.
This position is also expected to consult with the engineering team for the specification, procurement, and installation of new equipment. Organize maintenance team to complete tasks to support the business needs in both an office and factory environment by utilizing a strong background in maintenance management, safety practices, and a thorough understanding of plant operations. Lead small projects in the areas of process development and construction. Conduct all tasks according to established policies and safety practices.

Responsible for completing both project oriented and maintenance work orders, as directed by ITE Management Team, in a safe, timely and efficient manner. Provide expertise in the areas of electrical installation/troubleshooting, instrumentation, or mechanical systems. Maintain a clean and organized work area while conducting maintenance work orders. Specifically in 9 Key Areas:
- Define, schedule and supervise routine and preventive maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and equipment upgrades.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on electrical systems, including control systems, motors, switchgear, and other electrical equipment. This involves troubleshooting and diagnosing issues, as well as implementing solutions to prevent future problems.
- Safety Compliance and Procedures: Ensure all electrical maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulations, including OSHA and any industry-specific guidelines. This includes ensuring the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), following lockout/tagout procedures, and conducting safety audits.

- Develop and maintain the plant's asset management system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation of equipment, maintenance history, and spare parts inventory.
- Installation and Commissioning: Oversee or directly handle the installation and commissioning of new electrical systems and controls. This involves working from schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer instructions, as well as testing systems to ensure they meet operational requirements.
- System Improvements and Optimization: Identify opportunities for improvements and optimizations in electrical systems and controls. This may involve upgrading components, implementing new technologies, or improving system designs to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and modifications to electrical systems and equipment. This includes updating schematics, drawings, and operational manuals as necessary.
- Train and mentor maintenance and applicable production staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Emergency Response and Troubleshooting: Serve as a key responder in case of electrical emergencies or system failures, providing rapid troubleshooting and repair to minimize downtime and ensure the continuous operation of the plant. This includes being available on-call for emergencies outside of regular working hours.

PROFILE
- Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices, including predictive and preventive maintenance techniques.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and asset management tools.
- Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations in the chemical industry.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed to support plant operations.
- Experience with various facility equipment such as routine HVAC, breaker panels, motor control centers, facility wiring, and lighting.
- Ability to read and understand process documents such as P&IDs, electrical schematics, pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams, and construction blueprints.
- Knowledge and experience with various pipe fitting techniques such as threaded, flanged, compression, soldered, braised, or welded.
- Additional skills are highly recommended: electrical installation, general computer skills, and instrumentation knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent. Licensed Electrician (or equivalent experience) is highly encouraged. At least 5 years working in a manufacturing or factory environment or trades industry.
