To strengthen our Maintenance team, we are looking for a
Sr. Maintenance Technician
Perform routine and reactive maintenance tasks on both facility and process equipment. Assist in specification, procurement and installation of new equipment. Complete a range of assigned maintenance tasks in order to support the business needs in both an office and factory environment. Lead small projects in the areas of process development and construction. Conduct all tasks according to established policies and safety practices.
ROLE
Responsible for completing both project oriented and maintenance work orders, as directed by ITE Management Team, in a safe, timely and efficient manner. Provide expertise in the areas of electrical installation/troubleshooting, instrumentation, or mechanical systems. Maintain a clean and organized work area while conducting maintenance work orders. Specifically in 7 Key Areas:
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on electrical systems, including control systems, motors, switchgear, and other electrical equipment. This involves troubleshooting and diagnosing issues, as well as implementing solutions to prevent future problems.
- Safety Compliance and Procedures: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulations, including OSHA and any industry-specific guidelines. This includes ensuring the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), following lockout/tagout procedures, and conducting safety audits.
- Installation and Commissioning: Oversee or directly manage the installation and commissioning of new electrical systems and controls. This involves working from schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer instructions, as well as testing systems to ensure they meet operational requirements.
- System Improvements and Optimization: Identify opportunities for improvements and optimizations in processes and controls. This may involve upgrading components, implementing new technologies, or improving system designs to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and modifications to equipment. This includes updating schematics, drawings, and operational manuals as necessary.
- Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to other technicians and other staff on electrical systems, safety procedures, and best practices. This could also involve staying updated with the latest technologies, techniques, and regulations in the field.
- Emergency Response and Troubleshooting: Serve as a key responder in case of electrical emergencies or system failures, providing rapid troubleshooting and repair to minimize downtime and ensure the continuous operation of the plant. This includes being available on-call for emergencies outside of regular working hours.
PROFILE
- Various skills are required although some may be learned on the job. Either a certified Electrician or 5 years of demonstrated experience in electrical systems.
- Experience with various facility equipment such as routine HVAC, breaker panels, motor control centers, facility wiring, and lighting.
- Knowledge and experience with various pipe fitting techniques such as threaded, flanged, compression, soldered, braised, or welded.
- Mechanical assembly experience using a variety of fastener types. Has a valid Driver License.
- Additional skills are highly recommended; general computer skills, familiarity with various types of blue-prints/design drawings, knowledge of pump repair/maintenance, instrumentation knowledge, and/or metal fabrication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Licensed Electrician (or equivalent experience) is highly encouraged.
- At least 5 years working in a manufacturing or factory environment or trades industry.
