To strengthen our Springfield, Virginia team, we are looking for a
Production Supervisor/Engineer
ROLE
As the production requirements for SICPA North America evolve and become more complex, SICPA is looking for a Production Supervisor/Engineer to effectively lead the local ink production team. This position is also expected to liaise with multiple
departments while ensuring the safe manufacture of inks meeting quality specifications, using appropriate standard procedures and practices. Leading small projects in the areas of Continuous Improvement and/or Lean Manufacturing.
- Coordinate daily activities of manufacturing teams by determining priorities based on customer requirements. Communicate these requirements to team members.
- Support manufacturing teams by locating raw materials, generating process orders, through SAP computer program.
- Ensure all activities performed in manufacturing meet health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Perform disciplinary actions and performance appraisals for team members.
- Inform on schedule and production details during Daily Operations Meeting.
- Drive Continuous Improvement projects – LEAN Manufacturing projects.
- Approve and monitor team timecards to include making timecard adjustments, timecard approval, and processing of leave requests in timekeeping system.
- Serve as backup to Planner - review outbound deliveries, pending customer orders that have been placed, and future forecasted orders.
PROFILE
- Desired - three years in manufacturing supervisory experience
- Experience with LEAN Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles
- Ability to execute within SAP or similar ERP system
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel - at least an intermediate skill level
- Bachelor’s degree – preferred in chemical or mechanical engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing in a comparable setting.
