JAVA SOFTWARE BACKEND ENGINEER

ROLE

• Develop, maintain and customize scalable and robust Java based backend applications, such as JEE or SpringBoot
• Maintain and enhance existing solution, including bug fixing, performance improvement and implementation of customer-specific customizations
• Analyze application requirements and change requests related to solution workflows and define appropriate technical solutions
• Collaborate in the design and evolution of system architecture, technical solutions and structure to support long term maintainability and customizations need of projects
• Apply outstanding software engineering best practices to ensure reliable, maintainable and extensible solutions
• Maintain high standards of design and code quality at all times particularly when working with legacy components and customization implementations
• Apply state-of-the-art automated testing practices (unit, component, integration tests) to ensure quality and stability of the solution
• Support packaging and automated deployment of server-side software, ensuring smooth releases and operational stability
• Contribute to product and solution improvements, including proposing enhancements, optimization ideas and innovations for the application
• Apply agile methodologies throughout the development process collaborating closely with various stakeholders to deliver enhancements and maintenance updates efficiently

PROFILE

• Engineering Bachelor or Master´s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of experience as a Java Enterprise Developer
• A solid foundation in computer science theory
• Experienced software engineer with a soundtrack record in Java Spring Boot, with functional or reactive programming as a plus
• Experienced with Git source version control
• Knowledge of Design Patterns and Good Practices to design and develop quality and clean code.
• Wide experience in RESTful API consumption and design
• Skilled with testing frameworks (Ex. Cucumber)
• Experience with container technologies, like Docker, Kubernetes a plus
• Skilled in relational databases, e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle and MySQL are a plus
• Extensive experience in leading-edge, Java-based projects
• Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins
• Skilled in common Java frameworks, like Spring, CDI, and Hibernate
• Skilled in automated unit and system testing
• Experience implementing Keycloak or other authentication / authorization systems such as Spring security, OAuth
• Experience working with front-end development and REST applications
• Familiar with the Mac/Linux environment, including shell scripting and software packaging
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as SCRUM is a plus
• Team player in a multi-cultural working environment with the ability to work independently
• Ability to prioritize, work independently, and handle multiple projects with varying priorities
• Effective at problem solving
• Availability to travel internationally, including possible temporary project assignments abroad
• Fluent in English
