Cloud Platform Engineer
Tirana, Albania

ROLE:
• Operate production Kubernetes platforms on AWS, focusing on stability and day-to-day reliability across the stack.
• Own the day-2 lifecycle of the platform: execute EKS and add-on upgrades, handle CVEs based on guidance, rotate certificates and secrets, and perform basic capacity and cost adjustments.
• Apply Infrastructure-as-Code for changes. Read, review, and extend existing modules; safely run plan/apply and understand the impact of changes.
• Keep the CI/CD plane healthy: monitor and troubleshoot pipelines for build, test, Terraform plan/apply, and GitOps-driven delivery.
• Apply cloud security practices in execution: use IAM roles, manage secrets, and follow network and policy configurations defined by the platform.
• Run operational practices: monitor metrics, logs, and traces; respond to alerts; follow and improve runbooks; support backups and recovery procedures.
• Troubleshoot production issues across Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and applications; resolve independently where possible and escalate with clear context when needed.
• Maintain supporting services (e.g. PostgreSQL, Kafka): backups, basic tuning, and issue triage.
• Apply engineering discipline to infrastructure work: review changes, document recurring issues, and keep environments reproducible.
PROFILE:
• Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production — deployments, troubleshooting, logs, resource issues. Able to debug common cluster and workload problems.
• Production experience with at least one public cloud (AWS preferred). Understands core concepts: IAM roles (practical use), networking, load balancing.
• Understanding of modern infrastructure practices: Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, container-based delivery, declarative configuration. Familiar with the problems these tools solve.
• Security-aware in practice: understands least privilege and proper secret handling; follows established patterns.
• Comfortable scripting in Python and shell for automation and troubleshooting.
• Working experience with Terraform (or equivalent): able to read and modify existing code and apply changes safely.
• Familiar with Helm and container images; able to debug common deployment issues.
• Exposure to operating or supporting PostgreSQL and/or Kafka: backups, connection issues, basic failure modes.
• Solid grasp of Linux fundamentals and TCP/IP networking: DNS, TLS basics, connectivity debugging.
• Comfortable working independently in a distributed team and following documented processes.
• English is a working language
