Database Administrator (DBA)

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and the on-premises Microsoft Business Intelligence (BI) stack. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, security, and reliability of our database and BI platforms while supporting business-critical analytics and reporting solutions.

ROLE

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server environments
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and recovery strategies
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, capacity, and security issues
• Design and implement database maintenance and automation processes
• Develop and support BI solutions using the Microsoft on-premises BI stack:
  • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
  • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Power BI Report Server
• Support data warehouse and data integration initiatives
• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions
• Define and enforce database governance, security, and operational best practices
• Participate in infrastructure modernization

PROFILE

• 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA
• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server administration, performance tuning, security, backup and recovery
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and Power BI Report Server
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and BI architectures
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale production environments with high availability requirements
• Proven experience leading or contributing to technical migration projects, including database upgrades, platform migrations, infrastructure modernization, and BI platform transformations
• Experience migrating SQL Server, data warehouse, and reporting solutions across environments while minimizing operational disruption
• Proven experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe), participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Data Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, or Power BI is an advantage

Nice to Have

• Experience with migration from traditional Microsoft BI platforms to Microsoft Fabric
• Experience with Azure Data Services and hybrid data architectures
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation
• PowerShell scripting and SQL automation expertise
